The Golden Box

Grit reveals the latest phone box installation on International Women’s Day. Radiating optimism and warmth from the outside – crawling creatures are obscured by a spiralling abstract bamboo sculpture held within this golden space. Suspended inside the bamboo are golden objects that symbolise the artists own experience of becoming gold again.
The artwork is accompanied by a window display at Grit Art Central featuring beautiful hanging sculptures made by local women with the artist in a workshop held there this morning.
